Actually everyone have a different theory about the raven/writing desk... I've seen so many theory's...
Aldous Huxley, at hes article Ravens and Writing Desks, published on Vanity Fair, September 1928, said “Because there's a 'b' in both, and because there's an 'n' in neither”....
Sam Loyd, said: “Because the notes for which they are noted are not noted for being musical notes”..
"Both have quills dipped in ink" (David B. Jodrey, Jr.)...
“Because it slopes with a flap." Cyril Pearson
“Because they correspond! A writing desk is used to correspond. And a raven responds with a caw, a caw-response”, Israel Cohen.
“Because the raven has a secret aerie and the writing desk is a secretary”, Israel Cohen.
And so on in so many other languages.
Pascale Renaud translates in French as: “Pourquoi un corbeau est-il comme un bureau?” Parce qu’ ils font tous les deux de beaux reaux."
(Something like: Why is a raven like a desk? "Because they are all two beautiful reals").
And so in Catalan. "Perquè un corb és cridori" translated "Because a crow is loud" (és cridori, pronounced almost like escriptori, writing desk).
Well anyway. I think carroll was crazy. and was trying to make us a little more crazy as him. XD!
Anyway. Good luck finding whatever you're trying to find! C-ya
