I finally found the photographer who took (the top) picture that I’ve seen on Tumblr so much. I wanted to know where my dream garden existed IRL, so I checked it out. Jonathan Levitt is based in Maine, so maybe that dreamy photo was taken there? Plus- more great shots by him. swoon.
NGC 7293, better known as the Helix nebula, is the nearest example of a planetary nebula, which is the eventual fate of a star, like our own Sun, as it approaches the end of its life. As it runs out of fuel, the star expels its outer envelope of gas outward to form a nebula like the Helix.

Meet Open Garden’s FireChat, the messenger app protesters in Hong Kong have been using to circumvent government attempts to prevent them from organizing by blocking social networks like Instagram. Instead of relying on a single website or government-controlled networks, FireChat uses a technology called mesh networking for its “Nearby” chat mode.
