fabianromero:

the n word is not a word that should ever come out of the mouths of non-black folks. its not our word non-black folks, poc or white folks. it isn’t ours. even when reading a black writers work. honor their words by reading every word but that one, n-word suffices. honor the writers words by acknowledging the historic and current use of that word being used to degrade and validate violence and death against black people instead of using it as if doesn’t carry extra weight coming from our lips. it does. our bodies do not carry the historic baggage of that word.

So Assata Shakur is a “terrorist,” Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to three months in prison for tax evasion even though she did pay them, Kiera Wilmot a 16 year old girl is charged with a felony and expelled from school for a failed science experiment that hurt no one, and Blue Ivy Carter (a fucking infant) is having all types of misogyny thrown her way because of the way her parents dressed her. The one thing all of these people have in common? They’re all Black women/girls.

Please White Feminists, tell me again how white women and Black women face the same type of oppression. Tell me again how addressing racism and sexism at the same time is “divisive. ” I’d love to hear your thoughts about racism “not being a feminist issue.”

Please, entertain me.

Don’t forget the reaction to Quvenzhane being called a cunt…we were supposed to find it funny. Or something.
