As an ex-Muslim who takes comfort and solace in the hijab, and wears it at least every other day because to stop wearing it all together would be like throwing away a childhood blanket (or worse, tossing aside an old friend), Lena Dunham’s comment is patently offensive, and if you don’t think it is than you’d probably think I’m a fundamentalist based on the fact that I occasionally wear this fucking 180cm x110cm garment on my head.
